Money & Kids

Talking to kids about money can be as hard, but it's the most important tool they will ever use.

Kids Money

As parents, our job is to teach our kids how to not need us anymore. What a double-edged sword that is! But, we digress, sort of. One of the most powerful tools any of us ever interacts with is money. Talking to our children about how to work with money and manage money is one of the more important lessons we can teach them.

When used unwisely, money can bring sorrow, regret stress and even suicide. When used well, it can bring joy, pride, generosity and ease.

The money itself is inane, right? Nothing to it, just a bunch of paper with some ink on it really. But it's what we do with that paper that makes or breaks marriages, ideas, dreams and lives. If we're going to participate in this world, it's just one of the many things we must learn to master.

So, one would think that every parent sits and talks to their children for hours about money, right? Hmm, we're not so sure that's actually the case. We don't have all the answers, that's for sure. And money can really be a hot topic for a lot of us, but none of us want to pass along our "money issues" to our children.

In this section there are some great ideas for how to interact with your kids and money. We would never dream of telling you what to do, but we've worked hard to gather as much information as we can so you can use what works best for you and your kids.

Happy money!
